Karen Davis, PhD, is the Founder & President of United Poultry Concerns (founded in 1990), a nonprofit that promotes the compassionate & respectful treatment of chickens, turkeys, ducks and other domestic fowl. She is the author of many publications including Prisoned Chickens, Poisoned Eggs: An Inside Look at the Modern Poultry Industry. Karen maintains a sanctuary for chickens, turkeys and ducks at UPC's headquarters in Virginia. In 2002, she was inducted into the National Animal Rights Hall of Fame for Outstanding Contributions to Animal Liberation.
